The neck has 19mm of thick (in the first position - like "normal" JEM's) but the guitars made by Ibanez, f. The nut isn't fix in "back side" of the neck - that is why the neck, by the headstock is stronger - because there aren't any "tears" for the screws. The wide of the neck (in the first position) is 43mm (like in the "original" JEM), (in the last position) is 56mm (like in the "original" JEM too). The potenciometers and 5-way switch are made by DiMarzio.
But are Ibanez guitars any good Well, Ibanez has a lot to offer when it comes to different price points, and runs the gamut from expensive to very affordable.

The rest is history The Ibanez Jem is the best-selling Signature Series of all time. The bridge is gold Ibanez Lo-Pro-Edge Tremolo with 43mm JEM nut (as far this bridge is the best in the world - the guitar has never put out of tune!!!, I know that there are newest bridge made by Ibanez but for me, my bridge is the best!) Ibanez agreed to work with Vai, and they designed the Jem together. In my opinion those pickups are the best for this kind of guitar and for the rock music (in Vai's style)! The pickups in my guitar are DiMarzio Evolution (neck & Bridge) and DiMarzio HS-3 single-coil. The palisander is much more resistant to "temperature" - the wood is less supple for deformation. The neck on my guitar is made from dark palisander (not like in the "oryginal" JEM's, from ebony). This is joke ofcourse - this is not only reason that He plays on those kind of guitars! (Now I know, why Vai plays on his belowed white JEM's - "they" are made from "alder"). "Body" is made from "alder" (like in "original" JEM 7VWH), bot in different colour - a very bright, white pearl - it looks great (it isn't "perfect" white, that is why the guitar isn't "pale like a wall").
